LYNDA

LYNDA- Is it helpful?

What is Lynda?

Lynda is a program that is designed to help beginners of information technology gradually learn the aspects functions of computer programs such as Microsoft Excel, power point, Photoshop etc. You can find this tool on the internet where there is access to many videos of steps on how to extend your knowledge on the latest information technology.

Strengths

I do believe this program of "Lynda" is on the right track. Many of us are beginners when it comes to this modern technology generation and we need help to use programs like excel, power point, Photoshop etc. The website 'Lynda' is exactly that, a website with tutorials on how to use the programs that happens to be a lack of knowledge. It is a sequential program that takes you step by step through the procedures and functions of working something like Excel for instance.

Weaknesses

Even though this is a rather helpful program, in my opinion I feel as though the tutorials drag on for too long. I personally don't believe anyone can pay attention for an hr learning a few steps of a program that is built on the computer. Programs appeal to me when they are direct and straight to the point and don't give information out that isn't as vital as others.

Problem Solving Methodology

The VCAA Problem solving is effective however, I feel as though the "GROW" model is more direct and straight forward; gets to the point.

GROW has 4 simple steps that you must follow which I more people could successfully achieve more with a strategy that isn't too complicated. Even though The VCAA has four stages, it does however obtain other steps in each stages whereas "GROW' only provides one.

As mention previously, the "GROW" method appeals to me further as it seems quick and efficient to use especially in a generation like this where technology is so popular during this time, it could be handy to use a method that doesn't take up a long length of time.

Therefore with a method like this, the world can continue to move forward and solve even more information problems at a faster speed.
